Black Bean chocolate slice Recipe
Prep 15 mins chilling time 2 hours Makes 8-10 slices
Plan ahead: Grease & line a brownie tin.
Base ingredients:
2 tablespoons Natvia
2 green cardamom pods, deseeded or ground
½ cup raw almonds
2 tablespoons raw cacao or cocoa powder
1 cup cooked black beans, well rinsed & drained
1 tablespoon organic, un-hydrogenated coconut oil, melted
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
Icing ingredients:
2 tablespoons Natvia
4 green cardamom pods, deseeded and ground
1 avocado
½ cup cooked black beans, well-rinsed & drained
¼ cup organic, un-hydrogenated coconut oil, melted
¼ cup raw cacao or cocoa powder
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest from ½ organic orange
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
- Method: Blend all 4 tablespoons of the Natvia in a high-speed blender with the cardamom seeds until fine. Then divide mixture in half. Keep one half in your blender and the other half in a separate bowl. Add the almonds to your blender and blend until fine.
- Add remaining base ingredients to the blender and blend mixture until it resembles a thick dough. Press mixture evenly into prepared pan.
- For the icing: Place avocado flesh in the blender with other icing ingredients until smooth, then spoon onto the base and smooth out with the back of a spoon or spatula, before placing in the fridge or freezer to set.
