Dark Chocolate–Cherry Almond Bark


Keep this indulgent treat on hand to satisfy your sweet tooth. A small bite of antioxidant-rich dark chocolate with heart-healthy almonds is an alternative to sugar- and fat-filled candy bars.

8 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
1⁄4 teaspoon almond extract
1⁄2 cup dried cherries, chopped and divided
1⁄2 cup whole natural almonds, toasted, coarsely chopped, and divided
1⁄4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


2. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Stir until smooth. Add almond extract, stirring until blended. Stir in half of cherries and almonds.


3. Spread mixture onto prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining almonds and cherries, pressing lightly to adhere. Sprinkle with salt. Chill 30 minutes or until firm. Break into 14 pieces. Yield: 14 servings (serving size: 1 piece).
